Thursday Prayer is a relaxed, informal time of prayer.  We simply play music and pray.   Some choose to pray at the altar, while other pray at their seats.  No one is going to call you out and ask you to pray out loud, or ask you to lead anything.

If you have children, by all means, bring them.  Our Children’s Department has a wonderful program called PRAY KIDS that is sure to bless your little one.

Now, I fully understand as well as anyone how busy our schedules are, but I will just be blunt and say it like this, we make time for everything else, surely we can come together in unity and pray for one hour.

So put aside all your reservations and excuses and come out 7 -8 p.m. tonight and join us as we lift up our prayer needs to God.  I know that as we pray, good things will happen.

First, Thursday Evening Prayer Group & Pray Kids will be kicking off on Thursday, September 8 at 7:00 p.m.  Prayer Group & Pray Kids is open to everyone and is a great way to take a break during your week and spend an hour with members of your church family as we turn our attention toward heaven in prayer.   Don’t forget, we are told in scripture “the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16

Second, we are set to launch our Fall Life Group Campaign.   BVC Life Groups offer a small group atmosphere to study the scriptures, enjoy the fellowship of believers and to compassionately reach out to our region.  I would encourage everyone that attends the Believers Victory Center to get connected with a Life Group in your area.  Be on the look out during our upcoming Sunday services for more information on this great opportunity.

I consider Pastor Chuck to be one of my closest friends.  He is a great husband, father, leader and is sure to excite the God given destiny in the hearts of all who hear him.

The second part of the day will be held at Brighton Park and promises to be a wonderful time for the entire family. Our picnic will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will feature Greg & Karen Riggleman’s special recipe, pit barbecue chicken as well as a bunch of other homemade goodies.

After dinner it’s time to play!   Five Star Attractions will be on site with a carousel, a super slide, and those awesome swings that all the kids go crazy for.  And to be sure we don’t run out of energy, the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Company will be giving out snow cones and cotton candy, and it’s all free of charge.

Now we could stop here and it would be a great day, but you know how we roll, we have to finish off with a bang, and I do mean a bang.  At 8:30 p.m. the Starfire Corporation will unleash an awesome fireworks display to cap off our day of food, fellowship, & fun.
