Football and marriage are a lot alike. Both rely on communication, chemistry, team work and a little finesse. When all goes well, it’s art! But when it breaks down, it’s not so pretty. You probably know the basics of football; do you know the basics of marriage?

On May 2nd starting at 6:30 pm and May 3rd starting at 8:30 am Mitch and Teresa Pennington will once again be hosting an Art of Marriage Seminar at Heavens Landing Retreat in Medley, WV. The cost will be $60 a couple. For details call or email Mitch and Teresa Pennington at 304-749-7000 or tgp@citlink.net.

Easter is about a month away, but we want to make sure everyone is in the know. We will not have two services on Easter Sunday. Instead, we’ll combine the 9 and 11:15 services, and meet at Moorefield Middle School at 10 A.M. How incredible will it be to have all of our BVC family together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ! I’m getting exited just typing this!

Don’t worry, Ms. Lindsay and her outstanding Children’s Department Staff already have plans for our children and the Praise Team will be there too!

Help us spread the word – we don’t want anyone to miss out on this.

We are beyond excited to announce that we have finalized arrangements for Chad Furlong and iThink Assemblies’ third visit to our area schools. During the week of April 7th, school assemblies will be held at Petersburg High School, East Hardy Early Middle School, East Hardy High School, Moorefield Middle School and Moorefield High School.

For all the students that attended the assemblies during the week, there will be an “After Party” Friday, April 11th at 7:00 p.m. at Moorefield Middle School.

If you’re wondering what all the hype is about, talk to a few kids that have participated the last couple of years. The iThink team is comprised of young people that can relate to our youth about real life situations they face everyday.

Thankfully, the closest most of us get to Human Trafficking is a documentary on TV or reading a news article, but sadly this epidemic affects thousands of people each year. A missions team from D.C., including Moorefield native McKenzie Clark, will be going to India, considered by some to be the epicenter of Human Trafficking, to help provide restorations to victims. Below is a brief note from Mckenzie about her trip and their goals.

“On February 12th, I will be traveling to India as a member of a mission team from National Community Church in D.C. to help victims of human trafficking. My team of nine will be partnering with organizations such as the International Justice Mission (IJM) in Mumbai and then traveling to Pune to help an organization called Sparsh which works with children who are at risk to be sold into slavery. Our mission is to bring hope and joy into the lives of women and children who have been used and abused by this horrendous industry.

In the summer of 2011, I was able to live in Israel for two months while studying the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This experience opened my eyes to hurt and suffering beyond what many of us will ever know in our lifetime. Since my experience living in the Middle East, I have felt called to travel to these places, connect with people, give them hope, and most importantly, share it with others.

I have been blessed beyond my wildest imaginations with family and friends who have made these experiences possible for me. Although I will never be able to truly repay them, the best I can do is make their support go far enough to change a life, even if it is for one moment.

Our group’s prayer is that our heart’s will be broken from what we have seen, but that we will know God sees all (Psalm 33:13-15) and remain steadfast that our job is to let the world know that He has forgotten no one. (John 14:18)

At this website it will give a list of every team member. Every member is required to reach $2600. Any donation over that will go towards our general fund which we plan to use to buy a bus for Sparsh which will allow them to transport the children living there.

Due to the weather, the BVC Men’s breakfast scheduled for this Saturday has been canceled. Help us spread the word.

Have you decided on your New Year’s resolution? Every year many of us make resolutions to eat better, exercise more or change some bad habit. What if we make a decision to Pray more, not just more as in quantity, but spend time in sincere prayer. More than just our “wish list”. How many lives could we change, including our own? Start the New Year off right. Join us January 2 – 4, 2014 from 7 – 8 pm for three consecutive nights of Prayer.

Gateway Worship – As We Pray
As we pray, the darkness turns to light
As we pray, the will of God and man align
With one voice we lift our hands to say
We only trust in Jesus name
Lord of mercy hear this prayer we raise

Let Heaven’s gates be open
Let words of life be spoken
Not ours but Your will be done,
Father, as we pray to You

As we pray, the blind are given sight
As we pray, the heart of God and man unite
With one voice we lift our hands to say
We only trust in Jesus name
Lord of mercy hear this prayer we raise

Let Heaven’s gates be open
Let words of life be spoken
Not ours but Your will be done,
Father, as we pray to You

Bring freedom and forgiveness
Bring healing and repentance
For only You can save us
Father, as we pray to You

We lift one voice to one God, for one cause that all may know You
One voice to one God, for one cause that all may know You
One voice to one God, for one cause that all may know Your love

Let Heaven’s gates be open
Let words of life be spoken
Not ours but Your will be done,
Father, as we pray to You

Bring freedom and forgiveness
Bring healing and repentance
For only You can save us
Father, as we pray to You

While the rest of us are still enjoying Christmas on December 26th, Moorefield’s own, Molly Shriver, will be heading to Panama to take Christmas toys to children and to teach them about Jesus. Below is a brief note from Molly about her trip.

“On December 26th, I will be traveling with a small group to Panama. We will be visiting the small coastal community of Bahia Honda on the pacific coast, then traveling to the San Blas islands on the Caribbean side & staying with the Kuna Indians that live there. Our desire is to be able to take Christmas toys to the children of these communities.

We are currently taking donations through lovewithoutcondition.org, & 100% of the proceeds will do directly to toy purchases. Donations of any amount are welcome! Every little bit helps. Thank you!”

Christmas is a time of giving. What better way to give than to support missions that are not only giving things, but also sharing a “The Gift” of salvation

Donations can be make at http://lovewithoutcondition.org/toys-for-panama.html.

Merry Christmas
